Amanda Wiginton Harrist (CV)
I am currently a Full Professor at OSU. I received my B.A. in Plan II, t Liberal Arts Honors Program at the University of Texas in 1984 and, after an unhappy year in medical school, at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, began graduate school at the University of Tennessee. I graduated in 1991 with a Ph.D. in Human Ecology and a concentration in child development. I taught in the Educational Psychology program at UT Austin before coming to OSU in 1998. I love balancing teaching and research and am passionate about both. In addition to the research I have conducted on parent-child interactional synchrony and the research being conducted in the Social Development Lab with students, I have been busy as PI for a large longitudinal study of childhood obesity funded by the USDA beginning in 2005 and continuing through 2018. This project, the Families and Schools for Health Project, has its own FiSH webpage.
